The Flash Producer Says The Movie Was Never In Jeopardy Amid Ezra Miller Controversies

Who knows what exactly was said behind closed doors, but Warner Bros. seems happy enough to stay committed to a wide release for “The Flash,” which is currently being hailed as one of the best superhero movies ever made. As for Miller’s future in the role of Barry Allen, the entire property is built on the ability to traverse alternate and parallel universes, so anything is possible. 

“The Flash” director Andy Muschietti is throwing plenty of support behind Miller, and both he and his sister Barbara are still currently in touch with their lead actor. In the same interview, Andy told EW: 

“We have a lot of empathy in general for people who need help, and especially in mental health issues. That’s why they are taking the necessary steps to deal with their recovery, and we support them in that.”

If “The Flash” is a success, and all indications point to that being the case, Muschietti may decide to stay on board for a potential sequel, which should all but secure Miller’s future in the new, hopefully improved DCU.  Muschietti recently told The Playlist that if a sequel is greenlit, Miller could make another appearance as the DC superhero, praising Miller’s performance saying:

“I don’t think there’s anyone that can play that character as well as they did. The other depictions of the character are great, but this particular vision of the character, they just excelled in doing it. And, as you said, the two Barrys — it feels like a character that was made for them.”

We’ll see how audiences respond when “The Flash” hits theaters on June 16, 2023.
