Leonard Fournette believes he is in store for much more postseason success before he officially hangs up the cleats.
The free agent running back took to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, during Super Bowl LVIII to stake a claim that he “will get at least 3 more Super Bowls before I’m done.”
Fournette already has one Super Bowl ring, as he won one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the 2020 season.
The path to get to more Super Bowls will be very difficult for Fournette to navigate, however, as he pretty much had a season off in 2023. He only appeared in two games after signing midseason with the Buffalo Bills. He had 12 rushing attempts for 40 yards during his time with the franchise and was released by the team on Jan. 16 before the team’s Divisional Round loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
He brings 4,518 career rushing yards and 34 touchdowns to the table for a team looking to bring him into the fold.
The 29-year-old will likely need to find a reserve role in order to remain in the league, and his statement seems to show that he would prefer to fill that for a contender.
