In voicing his support for Antonio Pierce to be named the full-time head coach for the Las Vegas Raiders, Maxx Crosby made it clear he wants to be part of a winning organization.

Speaking to reporters ahead of Sunday’s season finale, Crosby called it “bulls–t” that he’s only made the playoffs once in his five years in the NFL.

“I’ve made the playoffs one time in five years. It’s bulls–t,” he said. “And we’ve got to figure out what we’re going to do moving forward. And I’m sick of change. I’m sick of losing. I just want stability and f—ing consistency, and that’s all that matters to me. I want to win.”

Pierce joined Davante Adams in calling on the Raiders to take the interim tag off Pierce, saying he would “100 percent” support the 45-year-old taking over the team going forward.

It’s not hard to see where Crosby’s frustration with the Raiders’ lack of success comes from. He’s played for six different head coaches and three general managers since being drafted in 2019.

That much instability has contributed to the franchise having just one winning season since 2017. They made the playoffs with a 10-7 record in 2021, losing to the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Wild Card round.

Pierce has done a good job of stabilizing things this season for the Raiders after Josh McDaniels was fired on Oct. 31. He has a 4-4 record since taking over as interim head coach.

The Vegas defense is allowing the fewest points per game (16.3) and has scored the most defensive touchdowns (four) in the NFL in eight games with Pierce as interim head coach.

Crosby is the anchor of the Raiders defense. The 26-year-old was named to his third consecutive Pro Bowl earlier this week. He is tied for the NFL lead with 21 tackles for loss and ranks seventh with 13.5 sacks.

The Raiders will wrap up their season on Sunday when they host the Denver Broncos at Allegiant Stadium.
